When you plant a seed of soybean into the earth, you are very sure you could get lots of soybean one year later. When you are staring at the bank account and small amount of interest, have you thought about money could also give birth to money? I can surely tell you:”yes!” In the article “Saving Money by spending it wisely”, written by Willard Michlin, the writer carried out an opinion, which is Saving Money by Spending it wisely. Personally, I fully agree with his opinion. As far as I am concerned, wise choice of spending money could make you richer.
In the society, it is not difficult to find the kind of people who become rich within one single night. The famous businessman Li JiaCheng started his business with a small firm which is making and selling plastic flowers. Several years later, although he was still very poor, but he raised tens of thousands HongKong dollars and invested them into rubber industry in Southeast Asia. His wisdom made him rich within several years. And he is also in financially top twenty in the whole world. Li’s example is the best one to prove that spending money wisely is also a way as well as a better way to save money. In the book “rich dad poor dad”, the writer Robert Kiyosaki compared his real father with the father of his friend. The former is just a normal employer; instead, the latter is an investor. The rich father has never let money stimulate in his bank account. He did investment all the time. In contrast, the poor father has to be worried about his debt. He saved all his money into bank and waited for the interest. At the end, the writer chooses to go along the rich father’s path and spend money wisely on doing some investment. Comparing these two examples with the article, it is easier to find, when you let money give birth to money, it is actually help you to save as well as earn money.
However, many people declared spending money on stocks may be extremely risky. In my opinion, even if you are doing a job with secure salaries, you will not know when you are going to lose your job. It is true that investment is risky. So, many requirements are needed. When you know all the things about investing, you could be benefit from the stream of money exchanged in the stock market.
In one word, reducing amount of using money is not the best way for us to save money. Instead, spending the money wisely is. As what Lyndon Forman has said: “Do not focus on how to spend less money. Focus on how to make more money.”

I strongly agreed with the opinion that human beings are willing to do goodness to others. As far as I am concerned, the following factors should be in concerns.
Firstly, according to the Hamilton’s theory, if the multiplication of relatedness and cost is smaller than the cost of doing goodness, people will do, whereas if the multiplication is larger, people will not do. In another word, if it is worth doing goodness, people will choose to do. Nowadays, as the development of communicating technology sped up, the relationships between relatives are being closer and closer. Thus, once one person is in trouble, all of the person’s relatives will do him (or her) a favor. Hence more and more goodness are being done.
Secondly, the writer of the essay proposed another point that is people always want others to return. Let’s say, if student A lent an umbrella to student B who forgot to take one, in a raining day, student A will be always expecting student B could lend him an umbrella when A is in the same situation. In one word, doing goodness is trying to get the chances people do goodness back to him. That is like saving money to the bank and withdraws it when you are in financial crisis.
Thirdly, from my point of view, people doing goodness are not only expecting the benefit but also the happiness getting from the process. There are many examples of people doing goodness without letting others know who they are. For this kind of people, the most valuable benefit is the happiness. When they are helping others, what they are expecting is only a smile, for example. Nowadays, doing goodness itself is easily being seen. As the spiritual level of human beings is getting higher and higher, people are getting more and more willing to help others. From that, a surge of unspeakable happiness will overwhelm. This kind of feeling is hard to describe bus it is still objective. Hence more and more people are looking forwards to obtained more mentally enjoys from doing goodness. This led to the increases of numbers of people doing goodness.
All above, people like doing goodness. No matter what they are looking for, the trend should be maintained. The development of this trend will contribute to social harmony as well as deepen the harmony between relatives, acquaintance even strangers.

interesting beginning
One day, I was strolling with my friend in Orchard. Suddenly, a gust of wind with dust and shrivelled growled towards us. Noises blocked our ears. We could not communicate well. Many roads were blocked. We could not go to the shops and remove our attention on shopping. After that we decided not to go to Orchard any more.
On that day, I read the newspaper, the news said:” the Singapore Tourism Board had finished constructing the plan of enhancing the face of Orchard.” There is an opinion that the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) should not invest S$40 m on enhancing the face of Orchard. I agreed with the opinion. As far as I am concerned, firstly, the purpose of enhancing the face has not been achieved; the changes are not conspicuous. Secondly, the constructing facilities contributed to the flipping down of economy in Orchard.
First of all, the purpose of enhancing the face has not been achieved. STB spent lots of money on constructing the glass panels. But the glass panels are not noticeable because of their position. Meanwhile, some pedestrians complain about the danger caused by the glass panel. Joyce Tan, who is a teacher, said: “the glass panels are impractical, especially at night, when people may get drunk and smash it, or into it. The money is not well spent on the glass.” The purpose of constructing the glass panel is to make Orchard be more beautiful so as to attract more tourists. But the situation now is, the glass panel is not noticeable and is being a subtle danger to pedestrians. Therefore STB should not spend so much money on it.
Then, the constructing facilities contributed to the flipping down of economy in Orchard. Nowadays, the economy in all the countries are flipping down, Singapore as well. The STB, which is one of the government departments, is trying to beautify the most famous shopping junction orchard road in order to get more and more tourists hence get more income. But unfortunately, the effects of constructions are not as good as the initial proposal. For hawkers, the places they standing at will not be seen by the pedestrians at the opposite side of the road. This resulted in far fewer people come to buy their things. For shops, the new constructing buildings blocked the road and led to the shops. Customers need to walk a long way to get the shop, and thus the number of buyers of the shop fell down rapidly. For pedestrians, the dust made by the constructing process forced them to swathe there nostril with their clothes tightly. It is a tremendous influence to the mood of the pedestrians. An Australian named Mrs. Jackie Stevens, 30, said: “we thought Orchard Road would be prettier and nicer, because we saw it in the travel books. I did not know there was going so much noise and construction.” Therefore we can see the makeover did not achieve the purpose of developing economy, on the other hand, it contributed to the flipping down of Singapore economy. Hence STB should not throw so much money into the useless constructions.
